The Whole Football Thing
Maybe I don't know all the facts (but when do I ever?), maybe I'm completely out of line; I don't know, but I'm going to talk about the NFL and kneeling for the National Anthem. Some things I've heard include:
"Unfortunately I must support the right, but not the wisdom of NFL players to protest in the manner they have chosen."
Unfortunately? It is their right. At first it started out as a protest against social injustice, but now it has just turned into an ugly war or people's opinions and beliefs. This all could have blown over, but someone had to make a big deal about a select few people choosing to take part in this. It has gotten way out of hand and big companies, like Anheuser Busch, are threatening to take away the funding of different football teams that have chosen to kneel. This is a stupid problem that can easily be fixed if people would just SHUT UP and GET OVER IT!!!
"this is disrepectful to veteran and the military"
How? They aren't ignoring the fact that the National Anthem is playing, they're simply acknowledging that it is playing and honoring the playing of it in their own way. This is not disrespectful. You think everyone should stand? If you had ALS and were in the hospital, you would be disrespecting veterans and the military? What about people in wheel chairs because they're temporarily confined due to an accident of some kind? Are they being disrespectful? Do you want them to lift themselves or have someone else lift them up? What's truly disrespectful is you impeding on these people's rights to acknowledge the playing of the National Anthem however they choose. I don't know a single veteran that says they are being disrespected by NFL football players kneeling.
"The flag is so much more important than any one person"
So, to those who think "the flag is more important than any one person" that means an inanimate object should come before your life. Like, if a building was on fire and there was only time to save one thing; you, a person, or the American Flag, an inanimate object that can easily be replaced, you would want the flag to be saved. How noble of you? More like how moronic.
Maybe I'm way out of line here, but these are just my opinions on the stupidity of people who thing this is the worst thing in the world and all of man kind is suffering because of it. The only thing I feel when thinking about this, is annoyed. How about you? Comment any opinions (especially if you agree with me... jk)
