Whose Shack?

Image
I was told I HAD to watch this movie about a guy that loses his little girl and goes on this trip to get the guy that killed her. I was expecting some Prisoners type movie (if you haven’t seen Prisoners , I highly recommend it. Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal are incredible.) I was not expecting The Shack to be about Sam Worthington finding God in a forest. “Living without being loved is like clipping a bird’s wings.” Octavia Spencer said this in the movie, The Shack . This movie was recommended by one of my more religious friends, and had a lot of good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.  I am not very religious and I don’t watch religious movies, but I am glad that I watched this movie. It isn’t something I would necessarily watch again, nor was it a movie I would go around telling people they HAD to watch because it was just that good, but it was beautifully shot and the cast was fantastic (I mean, Octavia Spencer and Sam Worthington; you can’t go wrong with them!)...

The (Wo)Man, the Myth, the Legend... Part 1

Okay, so everyone knows what to do in college; study, homework, exams, repeat. This being so obvious and having been drilled into our brains since we were in the first grade; you would think everyone would know what NOT to do in college as well. Believe it or not, there is such thing as too much partying; you want to stay away from that. Not showing up to class, BIG no no! In such a small school, most classes at ONU have an attendance policy so that you don't skip every single class, fumble your way through the exam and pass without learning anything. Despite popular opinion, going to college is meant to be a learning experience (and not just learning how to chug twelve beers and not wake up with a hangover.) My freshman year, I learned that these bad things actually happen a lot, and I just so happen to know someone that did it. For privacy purposes, I'm not going to use her real name so we'll call her Margret. Margret was a graphic design student and one of those people...

Double Trouble

Well, I have officially added a second major in... DRUMROLL PLEASE... public relations! After thinking it over and reading what you guys commented, I thought it would be best to add the major instead of the minor. It might be a little more time and effort now but down the road I think it will be very helpful. I'm more likely to get the job I want if I have the 2 degrees than if I were to just have the 1 degree and an added public relations minor. That was my thinking anyway. Who know what will happen? I'm just going to take in everything I can for all it's worth. I figured out basically the rest of my time here at ONU. If I want to graduate with the 4 year guarantee, that would give me 5 semesters and 2 summers to go through 35 classes. So, I would have to take 6 classes every semester, since we can't exceed 19 hours, and 5 classes in the time of two summers. I'm going to be busy. I'm not sure if I can take classes over christmas break. Are there online classes ...
