There's a Dog in This Post!!

Image
Great! now read this awesome writing that was sent to me by an anonymous writer and another dog will be at the bottom of the page!!  His eyes met mine in an intense stare; peering into my soul. I could hear his breath as his back arched and his spine bursting out one vertebrae at a time. Feet planted firmly, I didn’t think he would go anywhere. The smell was rancid, burning my nose and creeping into my mouth. I wanted to look away but his stare held me in place. Under his spell, I could do nothing but watch as he lurked forward with his back still arched and convulsing. With each step his stare grew more intense along with the stench that followed him. He was mere steps away from me when his eyes finally broke the connection and his back lowered; his spine sinking back into his skin. He trotted up to me happily, “good boy” I exclaimed, as I patted him on the head.

Seriously Though...

I don't plan on this post being long at all because I just want to talk about how, in the book The Art of Social Media, Guy Kawasaki says to respond to comments on your post. I'm not good at that. I don't know what the heck to say when someone comments something so I just don't, and unless they're asking me a question I didn't ever think there was a need to respond. He talks about YouTube in the book, so I'm not sure if he's like talking about responding to anyone on anything or if there's like a certain type of comment you should respond to on certain platforms of social media. I have no idea, and I am terrible at it. I tend to just think to myself (what a wonderful world... jk) , "okay thanks for the opinion," and move on with my life. I don't ever actually put it on the posts though because what am I supposed to say? I don't like being repetitive, so if I respond to every single comment with a super generic thank you I will cut

The (Wo)Man, the Myth, the Legend... Part 2

If you recall Margret's first semester, (still not saying names for privacy purposes) she had failed 3/5 classes and still thought it was not her fault... yes it was Margret, yes it was. Moving on to 2nd semester, day 1: no classes with Margret, so I did not see her leading me to believe that she had dropped out or got kicked out. Day 2: I made it to my last class, without seeing her, but who comes strolling into (late, of course) photography? None other than THE Margret. "Sorry I'm late, (insert stupid, unrealistic excuse.)" She continued telling everyone in class, "I know 99% of the Adobe programs, so if you ever need help, ask me" yeah, remember that? After that 1st week, Margret stopped coming to classes and everything was right in the world again. She came back to photography after a fall break with the excuse "I have been deathly ill," yeah, sure. Knowing that was a lie (because one of my friends saw her a couple days before in the drive th

Olivia's Opinions on Movies in Podcast Form!! ft. Trey

This post is going to feature one of my good friends, Trey. In the podcast Trey and I are giving vague movie reviews (just saying our opinions) on 4 movies. Before we share opinions though, I will be giving Trey hints and he must guess the movie. I will put the hints below but you'll have to listen to the podcast to get the answers. Podcast Link Movie 1: 1) I was forgotten, but reappraised by critics and am now considered one of the greatest horror movies of all time. 2) I was directed by a Carpenter. 3) I was made in 1982 4) I have a prequel made in 2011. 5) Kurt Russell is my star. Sarcasm is my Super Power

"Edification is great. Sarcasm is great. Belligerence is lame. Complaining that a post is not perfect for you is lame. If you don't like a post, shut up and move on." - Guy Kawasaki, and it could not have been more perfectly said. I am obviously sarcastic. I am so sarcastic that people don't take me seriously when I'm being genuine because my voice didn't change from my normal sarcasticness. Sarcasm is great, but there is a different between being sarcastic and being annoyingly critical. Example 1: At a family event, my sister and I were standing beside each other. We had been standing there for a while and ran out of things to talk about so Quinn, my sister, turns to me, plays with my hair a little and says, "your hair smells really good," to which I respond, "thanks, I shower." I didn't know what else to say being the sarcastic person that I am. Anyway, that is sarcasm. Example 2: On my Facebook feed, there is a girl (that I w
