Short Scares: Episode 3

I’ve been at it again. More short horror film critiques coming your way.
To start it off we have: I Heard It Too

The description on the video describes it as,
A girl heard her mom yell her name from downstairs, so she got up and started to head down. As she got to the stairs, her mom pulled her into her room and said "I heard that, too."
I liked it, that is, until the end. The little girl was adorable, but the mom seriously needs to learn how to whisper. Like, come on lady, the only way she would survive this short film is if the killer was deaf.

This one is based on a short story. I’ve listened to the podcast of it on Simply Scary (an awesome podcast by the way 10/10 would recommend) multiple times and each time I find something I hadn’t noticed before. I was really excited when I saw this title, but as I watched it I became more and more disappointed. The pictures I had in my mind while listening to the podcast were way creepier and better than what they got on film. No offense to those that made it.

I’m only going to talk about those two because I watched seven more and they all sucked. Let me know what you think of these short films.

Here at ONU you have the opportunity to pursue anything you want. I chose to pursue advertising design. It is a great program and I love it. I love the classes, I love the professors, I love my fellow students, but I'm just not sure where the advertising comes into the advertising design program. Mostly there have been art classes and general education courses and that is to be expected, but I was hoping for a broader view of what I would be doing business wise in the advertising world. I've decided to pursue public relations to get this broader view, but I don't know if I should add it as a second major, or if I should just go for the minor? On 1 hand, the major would give me another degree entirely, on top of my advertising design degree. 2 degrees is a good thing right? Dreams are Weird...

Dreams are weird. I have never had what anyone would consider a "normal" dream. I'll give you one example of the strangest dream I think I have ever had. I once had a dream that I was going to a boarding school (that looked like Hogwarts). I was coming back from a class and there was a girl in the bathroom with all the showers running, and she was running around singing "it's raining , its pouring, the old man is snoring..." (we all know the song). Well, this teacher goes over, pulls this transparent screen over the door and screams "I'll make it rain!" she then pulls this rope that came out of nowhere and the water coming out of the showers turns to acid and the girl in the bathroom just melted. I run back to my room where two of my friends are and I tell them we have to get out. Then it jumped to us at dinner where all the teachers were wearing these black hoods and were standing in the shadows until the head master, freaking Santa Clause, c

Phobias

Today I had to give a speech on phobias, so I'm just going to talk about  those for a bit. Phobias are an anxiety disorder defined as, persistent irrational fears of something that poses no threat. There are some weird phobias out there, I have two strange phobias myself. Achondroplasiaphobia, is the first of my two phobias, and it is the fear of midgets. I don't know why this is, so don't ask, and I know, "they're just people". My second phobia is autoucmbustophobia, this is the fear of spontaneous human combustion. I am terrified that one day I'm going to be walking down the street and either I just going to burst into flames out of nowhere, or someone is going to pour gasoline all over me and light a match. I know for a fact that this stems from my fear of dying in a fire, which stems from a movie I watched when I was about 7 years old.
